Dental Students

Dental Students of the World

We are thrilled to introduce you the GLOBAL HEALTH STARTER KIT.

This 5 Lesson Module was designed and provided to us by Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Consortium of Universities for Global Health, with special thanks going out to Dr. Brittany Seymour.

WE: Humble Smile Foundation, together with the International Association of Dental Students, believe that the GHSK is a crucial course for students who want to volunteer in Oral Health Promotion missions, which is why we are sharing this unique learning experience with you.

YOU: Dental students holding a GHSK certificate will increase their chances of being selected for a future Humble Oral Health Promotion project.
So let’s raise competency for Global Health work and take this journey together!

Are you thinking of starting an Oral Health Promotion project in your community?

We think that is a great idea, especially while travel is limited, but mainly because your community will benefit most from a sustainable glocal project – meaning you and your local team are empowered by global professional organizations.

Apply to join the LEADERSHIP IN GLOBAL ORAL HEALTH INITIATIVE led by the Alliance for Oral Health Across Borders together with Humble Smile and IADS.

Volunteer on one of our flagship global oral health promotion projects – and gain an experience that will change the way you see yourself and the practice of your chosen profession, while building collegial relations and friendships for a life-time.

Follow us on social media to see updates about our upcoming international volunteer projects.

Establish a Humble Smile Dental Student Society in your university –in this way you can get support for student exchange programs and for underserved communities in your area or abroad.

Dentists (of all specialties) and Dental Hygienists

Put your skills to use where they are most needed by volunteering in a dental clinic on one of our projects.

Currently there is an opportunity at a new container dental clinic located on the informal settlement of Melusi, outside of Johannesburg in South Africa. The dental unit is being managed by Dr Jay Miller on behalf of Humble Smile together with our partner University of Pretoria, Faculty of Health Sciences, as part of their Holistic Health Hub.
