About the organisation:

Humble Smile Foundation is a global group of dental and development professionals who passionately promote oral health as an integral part of children’s well-being. The Foundation provides dental health support to children without access to dental treatment, and is dedicated to providing vulnerable communities with the means and motivation to prevent oral diseases, conditions and disabilities, especially child tooth decay, by developing, implementing and sharing effective and sustainable models of oral health promotion. Since its establishment in 2015, the Humble Smile Foundation has initiated and led 8 comprehensive projects in Latin America, Sub Saharan Africa, and East Asia, and supported over 40 projects around the globe through provision of professional trainings and in-kind donations.

Responsibilities:

One of the organization’s flagship projects is located in the slums of Kalwa. Established in 2015, the Gabriel Smiles Program is an ongoing oral health promotion initiative in strong collaboration with our local partners. Currently, the organization is planning an expansion of the program. We are therefore looking for a highly self-motivated professional that will manage the program, establish a Humble Smile Office in India, and develop resources for the organization.

Responsibilities: In close collaboration with all Humble Smile officers, the Project Manager is responsible for project coordination, partner relationship development and management and the development of resources in order to ensure effective implementation of the Gabriel Smiles Program.

Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

A. Partner Relations

a. Maintaining and developing mutually beneficial partnerships to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results as specified in grant agreements.

B. Program Coordination

a. Coordination of the local Health project, including:

i. Human and material resources, including volunteers,

ii. Contributing to planning of the flagship project,

iii. Ensuring smooth implementation and continuation of the project,

iv. Supporting Operations Officer with the development of the project budget.

v. Supporting monitoring and evaluation of the program, including reporting if needed.

b. Ensuring project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor organization.

c. Being the main contact person for local stakeholders.

d. Identifying potential project problems and risks and raising and implementing creative solutions.

C. Administration

a. Reporting on the implementation and development of the project to the

Operations Officer and the President.

b. Administering monthly project expenses.

c. Supporting the Operations Officer with reporting of finances of the project to meet the requirements of the accountant and donor(s).

d. In collaboration with the team, setting up an organization in India and ensuring it meets the requirements for registering a NGO in the country, including all administrative and organizational requirements.

e. Opening and managing a bank account.

f. Ensuring continual reporting of financials to the authorities according to local requirements.

g. Engaging an accountant or other professionals as required.

D. Resource Development

a. Identifying new CSR and CSI collaborations and developing relations with potential partners in India.

b. Identifying potential funding opportunities in the country and being the first contact for local donors in country of the project.

Skills & qualifications:

• Graduate level degree in a field relevant to international development, public health or another related field.

• Two to five years field experience as a manager of a development project, preferably in India.

• Demonstrated experience in overseeing project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

• Experience in collaborating with partners, and strong skills in developing and maintaining relations

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English, Hindi and Marathi.

• Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritize and effectively multi-task.

• Ability to identify (potential) risks evolving in the field and to solve problems successfully.

• Proven experience in fundraising and working knowledge of CSR and/or CSI.

Eligibility:

The candidate should have the authorization to work in India.
